SHARING HEALTH AWARENESS

Through the Sharing Awareness campaign, a “1 Day Workshop” came off at the Atebubu Senior High School on the 14th of December 2010.
The number of participants were about 500+ students and tutors.

The theme of the workshop: “Creating Awareness On HIV and STI infections among The Youth.”

The presentation was given by an expert who has been involved with the training of Ministry of Health workers, Schools and Churches.
He is a resource person for America Peace Corp, World Health Organization, UNAIDS, GTZ etc.

NILIYUNGDO TODAY

Once again, the time has come to evaluate the progress in Niliyungdo, and to see some of the positive changes and new developments that have taken place.We undertook a trip to see for ourselves.
Upon entering the community, it was evident that the people are still vigorously cleaning the whole village twice a month.

In addition to evaluating and commending them on taking such good care of themselves and their environment, we proceeded to randomly choose families to visit and discuss with them what they think about the changes in their community and what they would like to see change.

TRAFFIC SAFETY STARTS IN ANYANO M/A JHS AND PRIMARY SCHOOL

ANYANO M/A JHS and PRIMARY SCHOOL are schools in Kumasi. Since participating in MKFC “SHARING AWARENESS Workshop” in February of 2010, they have adopted the lessons they learned from the workshop. One initiative was to enlighten children on Traffic Safety in their community.

Above are the initiators of the traffic safety project: Mr. Frank Gyimah, Mrs. Dora Afua Pokua, Headmistress of Anyano M/A JHS School, and Mr. Kennedy Mintah. Thomas Atta Badioo, Erica Asare, and Rashid Behisea are students of Anyano M/A School who realize the importance of traffic safety.

Teachers’ Professional Development in the 21st Century

eCAPGF had the opportunity to participate in the West African Teachers conference under the theme, “Teachers’ Professional Development in the 21st Century,” taking place in Accra, Ghana, from 13th August –20th August. Participants from Nigeria, Liberia, Ghana, Canada and USA were present on the first day.

The 5th International Conference on ICT for Development, Education and Training took off in Lusaka, Zambia, between May 26th and 28th, 2010.

As a result of eCap Ghana Foundation’s projects in the Northern Region of Ghana, we were fortunate to be selected to present a paper during the 3 day conference on “Sharing Health Education with Rural People in Ghana Through ICT.”
